There is a regular minibus service called “dolmus” just outside the villa which takes 20 minutes to get to Altinkum, Didim and the Temple of Apollo. Altinkum (Golden Sands) / Didim In Altinkum you will find plenty of shops and restaurants, plus loads of night time entertainment including some great music bars, re-runs of favourite TV comedy shows and live ‘big screen’ football matches. A new marina is being built and a golf course planned.
There are boat trips to Bodrum and Greek Islands (Samos, Kos). Didim is a large town adjacent to Altinkum offering all sorts of shopping opportunities and markets to explore. It is known around the world as the home of the Temple of Apollo.

The ancient Temple of Apollo at Didyma 5 km north of Altinkum was the third largest structure of the ancient Greek world when built around 1000 BC. This is the site where the Greek god Zeus came down to earth to make love to the goddess Leto, who then gave birth to twins Artemis and Apollo. The ‘furious Medusa, PICan exquisite marble head adorns the steps at the entrance to the site.
From Didim there is a boat trip to Kusadasi and from there you can go to the Greek island of Samos.
